What you need to know about the NBA Draft 2015

The NBA Draft 2015 will be held on June 25, 2024 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn NY; you can watch it live on ESPN.

1. How the selection was determined?

There are 1,001 total combinations available, with one of those combinations thrown out and the other 1,000 combinations distributed among the teams. The worst team in the league gets 250 combinations, and the odds get worse for each subsequent team.

2. The Timberwolves became the first team with the best odds to win the lottery in 11 years.

The final order for the 2015 draft is set. After receiving two first overall picks in the Kevin Love trade, the Timberwolves had the best odds of landing at the top of the board thanks to having the worst record in the league in 2014/15. Now they will have the chance to add another star to flank Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins and Ricky Rubio. - SB Nation

3. Karl-Anthony Towns Reportedly Told by Wolves He'll Be No. 1 Pick in NBA Draft.

Karl-Anthony Towns, long projected to be one of the top two picks in this year's NBA draft, will reportedly be selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves at No. 1. Towns averaged 10.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game in his only season at Kentucky, though he did that in just 21.1 minutes per contest, as Kentucky regularly rotated players given its incredible depth. - Bleacherreport.com

4. Lakers' draft projection: Jahlil Okafor

According to the Chad Ford Mock Draft 7.0, with the second pick in the NBA draft, the Los Angeles Lakers will select Jahlil Okafor. Okafor is projected to have a statistical plus/minus of 0.52 in years 2 through 5 of his NBA career. Statistical plus/minus is an estimate of a player’s contribution to his team’s point differential per 100 possessions. An SPM of zero is considered league average (weighted for minutes), and replacement level players have an SPM of about -2. - ESPN

5. Strange things happen from time to time!

Although the great debate is between Karl-Anthony Towns and Jahlil Okafor, there are an endless amount of mock drafts out there that have Mr. Towns going No. 1 overall. Strange things happen from time to time, though. You know, like Anthony Bennett going first in the 2013 NBA Draft. Other players who could be a surprise No. 1 pick in this summer’s draft include Emmanuel Mudiay (PG, China), D’Angelo Russell (PG/SG, Ohio State), Kristaps Porzingis (PF, Latvia), and Justise Winslow, SF, Duke - Rantsports.com
