Is the show pawn stars real?

The History Channel’s reality series Pawn Stars is staged for filming but there is no acting involved. The personalities seen in the show are real.

Negotiations between customers and the staff of Las Vegas’ Gold & Silver Pawn Shop are often edited for length, and/or production value.

When a customer presents a unique or interesting item, they may be asked to return to the shop so that the crew can capture the entire set of negotiations on camera.

The series, starring Corey Harrison, Richard Harrison, and Rick Harrison, premiered on July 19, 2009, and is just about ready to air the finale of its 5th season; episode 5.25 is currently slated to air on July 14, 2012.
