Apollo 18, due for release on September 2, 2011, is a fictional Horror-SciFi-Thriller, it is not based on actual events. The movie is set in 1974, and is about a fictitious expedition to the moon in which supposedly recently found footage from NASA shows some type of alien life form which attacks the crew of the Apollo 18 spacecraft after they find a dead Russian cosmonaut on the moon.
