Is Billy the Exterminator on A&E staged or is it real?

When we talk of reality TV shows, many viewers assume that a lot of the drama is entirely falsified.

And Billy the Exterminator, being just another one of the reality programs that used to boast unscripted, unedited and unplanned production, did not pass its viewers skeptical observations.

While some thought that most of the scenes are real, viewers are not convinced that the entire setup had not undergone some sort of twisting and tweaking.

That assessment could be very well true. Did you happen to bumped in with the network's tagline? It says: A&E is “Real Life. Drama.” A&E is television that you can’t turn away from; where unscripted shows are dramatic and scripted dramas are authentic. Their shows offer you with a mix a both - reality and a stage show.

But when it comes to Billy's ability as an "exterminator", people have somewhat officially recognized him to be the real deal. Billy is a certified entomologist (a bonafide zoologist who focuses on insects) and he teaches his viewers about the pests he captures, exterminates or relocates to their natural habitat.

Searching the web also introduces you to a number of published articles on how a reality TV show works. While these public revelations mostly do not name specific shows, they usually expose "secrets" reality TV show producers won’t tell you.

After a nearly five-year hiatus, Billy the Exterminator with Billy Bretherton returns to A&E. The last season aired in the US back in 2012.
