Do u beavers eat trees?

Beavers eat tree bark and the cambium, which is the soft wood underneath the bark. They are especially fond of bark from beech, alder, aspen, maple, cottonwood, willow, and poplar trees. Bacteria in a beaver’s stomach digests the cellulose in wood and then the beaver’s stomach digests the bacteria. This animal also consumes plants like ragweed, sedges, pond lilies, duckweed, Witch Hazel, pondweeds, and algae.
