Why would O.J. Simpson be offended if he was asked to sign a basketball?

He will be offended because he was not a basketball player. Orenthal James "O. J." Simpson is a retired American football player.

O.J. Simpson was born in 1947 in San Francisco, California. He became a college football star at USC, winning the Heisman Trophy in 1968, and later enjoyed a record-setting career in the NFL.

Once known as one of the most-famous running backs in football history, Simpson, was acquitted for the deaths of Brown Simpson, his ex-wife and her friend Goldman in 12 June 1994.

In December 2008 he was sentenced to a prison term of 33 years without the possibility of parole for 9 years, related to an armed robbery in 2007 (he was charged with other crimes as well, including kidnapping). This was in contrast to the potential life sentence he was facing for this offense that took place at the Palace Station hotel.

Currently, he is still serving his time at Lovelock Correctional Facility in Nevada. He will be eligible for parole in October 2017 at the age of 70. If he remains incarcerated for his full sentence it means he'll be 94 years old by the time he's released.

In celebrity buzz, Cuba Gooding Jr. found himself in a dark place while playing O.J. Simpson, in “The People v. O.J. Simpson” on FX.

"The People v. OJ Simpson" has America hooked. It reeled in 8.3 million viewers for the premiere episode, beating FX's previously highest-rated shows, “American Horror Story” and “The Shield.” Catch more at Fox News.
