Why does mcgee from ncis look sick or even like a different person?

Sean Murray who plays McGee on NCIS is not sick. He says he lost 25 lbs. by cutting out alcohol, most sugar & eating organic for 14 mos. Next year he says maybe he'll be McMuscles!
