Why does Holmes find Wilson's story interesting?

Sherlock Holmes claims that he has never heard a case as bizarre as Jabez Wilson’s.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on May 22, 1859, Arthur Conan Doyle was the son of an Irish painter who specialized in fantasy scenes. Doyle was sent to England at age nine to attend boarding school, an experience he deeply loathed.

He then enrolled in medical school, after which he briefly served as a naval doctor before entering into private practice. He moved around southern England until he finally settled in the town of Southsea. Doyle had written for his own pleasure up until this point in his life but succeeded in publishing A Study in Scarlet in 1887, a slim novel that introduced the world to Sherlock Holmes.
