who plays the part of Sauromon in the Lord of the Rings trilogy?

Christopher Lee plays the part of Saruman in the Lord of the Rings trilogy: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002), and The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2003).

He also plays the part of Saruman in the Hobbit film trilogy even though the character doesn't actually appear in the book The Hobbit. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was released in theaters on December 14, 2012. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is scheduled for theatrical release on December 13, 2023 and The Hobbit: There and Back Again will be in theaters on July 18, 2014.

Lee once told the public that he reads The Lord of the Rings every year and claims to have done so since the year it was published in the mid-1950s. He was also the first person to be cast in the film trilogy because he knows the story so well.

Of interest to music fans, Lee is expected to release the heavy metal album Charlemagne: The Omens of Death, a follow up to the symphonic metal album Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross (2010) sometime during 2013.
