Who is the red guy at the end of the avengers movie

The red guy, who is supposed to appear as violet in color at the end of The Avengers is Thanos, the Mad Titan. Damon Poitier has been credited as filling the role. Thanos first appeared in the Marvel Comics title Iron Man #55 (February 1973) and is obsessed with Death.

While movie critics believe Thanos will be the next villain in The Avengers 2, they are not certain if the Infinity Gauntlet formed by the six Infinity Gems will be featured at all.

Disney CEO Bob Iger has announced that development will officially begin soon on The Avengers 2. Kevin Feige has revealed that although there have been no official talks to date that Marvel Studios is interested in Joss Whedon returning as director and screenplay writer for the film. Movie critics predict a theatrical release date of 2014 or 2015.
