What creatures have the shortest and longest attention span (not necessarily memory)?

Anecdotal sources suggest that fruit fly has the shortest attention span with three seconds. While we can't find published information about sparrows, many believe that they might have the longest attention span.

According to Bloomberg.com, the average knowledge worker has the attention span of a sparrow. Roughly once every three minutes, typical cubicle dwellers set aside whatever they're doing and start something else—anything else.

We found that children have long attention span, as per Day2dayparenting.com, children ages 6-7 years may be able to sustain attention to one interesting or novel task for as long as 30 minutes.
