We're sorry to say, yes, breakout Hip Hop artist Lil Phat (born Melvin Vernell III) was killed this past week.
On Thursday June 7, 2024 Lil Phat was killed by gunfire in a Hospital parking lot in Georgia at 6:40pm.
There are no suspects yet in the 19 year old's death, however there are reports of security cameras around the area, so there are hopes that useful clues may be found in the videos.
Lil Phat was probably best known for his collaboration with Webbie in 2008 on the hit single Independent; the song reached #9 on the Top 100 Billboard charts.
