In what year did Jack Lemon die?
Winner of two Oscars, Jack Lemmon died on June 27, 2001, in Los Angeles, California of complications related to cancer. Before it happened, he had been in and out of the hospital over the past few months, coming down with pneumonia and having to have his gall bladder removed in May of that year.
Lemmon is sometimes called "America's Everyman," as he had the ability to be familiar to the audience. He seemed like he could be their neighbour, their boss, their cousin or their friend. Many of his characters also managed to convey some of the anxiety and neuroses of modern times.
The gallbladder is the small pear-shaped sac that lies just below your liver, and plays a very important role in digestion (it stores and doles out bile, a fluid produced in the liver that helps digest fat). Check out some tips on eating right for your gallbladder at Everydayhealth.com.
