I have a dog collar that says "not for tieout" on it. What does that mean?

Sources suggest that these collars are considered "break away collars". If it's not meant for a tieout, then it should not be used for walking them on a leash.

It's a benefit when the animal is caught up and being choked. The clasp would release before choking the dog.

Everyone wants the best for their dog, and that means taking steps to make sure that the beloved pet is safe, does not do damage, and does not get lost. A good way to do that is to make sure the dog is properly tagged and has the right collar.

There are many different kinds of collars, and choosing the right one depends on the type of dog, the behaviour issues the dog may have, and whether the collar is intended for everyday use or for training purposes.
