How rare is o negative blood type
The blood type O- is uncommon, about 7.7% of the population have it, about 1 in 15 people. The most rare type of blood is AB-, only 0.7% of the population have it, that's only 1 in 167 people! Something particularly special about O- blood is that people with it are potentially "universal donors." Unlike the other blood types, their red blood cells can be transfused into people with any other blood type. On the opposite side of the spectrum, people with the AB blood type can only receive AB type blood.
