Sources suggest that it will depend on age, sex and breed. An ox is a beast that can weigh 1,500 to 3,000 pounds and pull an amount equal to or greater than their own weight.
A well-trained team of oxen can pull as much as 12,000 to 13,000 pounds.
The ox grows taller than the bull and has less muscling in the neck and chest. Typically, bulls don't serve as working animals because of their strong sex drive and aggressive behavior. Steers are castrated males either less than 4 years old or not trained. Most steers end up as meat.
