Did R&B singer Tank die and he so when and how.

No. Contemporary R&B singer Tank (born Durrell Babbs in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is still alive. In fact he's working on the release of his upcoming album Sex, Love & Pain II (SLP2) featuring the Wale-assisted single “They Don’t Know.”

But in 2014, Tank talked about giving up on music all together. In an article of Madamenoire.com published on December 19, 2014, you can view a photo of Tank which he posted on Instragram (which has since been removed) and it appears that he's completely done with the music industry; he was disheartened for the lack of support for his then solo project “Stronger.”

Now, Tank is the newest artist to start his own label. The singer, who’s been in the game for almost 20 years, has announced he’s starting a label called “R&B Money,” an imprint on the label to which he’s signed, Atlantic Records. You can check the preview, buy, and download Tank's music on iTunes.

When asked by Vibe.com about his Instagram post last year, he said that "it wasn’t necessarily an idea of quitting music, it was an idea of getting everyone to understand the state of music period."
