Did phil robertson play football

In the 1960s, Phil Robertson, was the starting quarterback at Louisiana Tech for two seasons ahead of Terry Bradshaw. His coach and teammates recall him as a talented, outdoors-obsessed character who walked away from his final year of eligibility to spend more time hunting and fishing, but had the talent to play in the NFL.

Born and raised in Vivian, Louisiana, Phil Robertson is an American hunting enthusiast, businessman and reality television star. With seven children in his family, money was limited and very early on, hunting became an important part of his life.

Phil Robertson is the head of the Robertson family which owns and operates a multi-million dollar hunting accessory company called Duck Commander. As a high-school player, Phil was All-State in football, baseball, and track which afforded him the opportunity to attend Louisiana Tech University on a football scholarship.

Former Louisiana Tech quarterbacks Terry Bradshaw and Phil Robertson, of Duck Dynasty fame, were honored recently. Learn more at CBS Sports.
