Baron Corbin won the Money in the Bank ladder match at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view Sunday, 18th June, to earn a WWE Championship match at a time of his choosing, the Bleacher Report reported.
The Money in the Bank contract has served as a springboard for many Superstars since its inception, as history shows that it nearly guarantees the holder will eventually become a champion.
This year's Money in the Bank ladder match provided fans with an interesting mix since Styles, Owens and Ziggler have all been world champions before, while Nakamura, Zayn and Corbin are all in search of their first title on the main roster.
As Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles were fighting on the ladder, Corbin tipped the ladder over, taking the two stars out of the equation. That allowed Corbin a free path up the ladder to the Money in the Bank briefcase.
