Why does Trina Braxton have an accent?

Trina Braxton hasn’t commented on her accent, but viewers of Braxton Family Values have a number of plausible explanations.

A popular, but incorrect theory is that her accent is Canadian. The problem is that Canadians say her accent sounds odd to them too. Another, more likely idea, is that her accent is from a very specific part of the Chesapeake Bay area. Although the geographic origin of her accent may have been discovered, there is still no explanation for why it seems to randomly disappear.

Braxton Family Values returned in August 2012 for another run of episodes. The show follows the Braxton sisters and their mother along with all the drama that seems to follow them. Braxton Family Values airs Thursdays on the WE network.
