Fox debuted The Simpsons as its own stand-alone show with a Christmas special episode. The pilot episode, entitled Some Enchanted Evening, had been due to air in the autumn of 1989 but issues with the quality of the animation in the early episodes led to broadcast being pushed back to December.
The Christmas Special, entitled “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire,” therefore marked the first time that audiences encountered Homer and Marge and their children Bart, Lisa and Maggie. - airs/

So, following the theme of the trailer, they wish to sell blood at the local drive. The only problem is that the nurse is so distracted by a phone call from an ex-husband that she forgets about the now bloodless Beavis and Butt-head in the volunteer chairs!
