You might be referring to Tony Harris, who exited the channel in December 2010. Harris used to take the 11am-1pmET slot of CNN Newsroom.
He is now the anchor of Al Jazeera America, owned by the Qatar-based Al Jazeera Media Network which is headquartered and run from studios on the first floor of the Manhattan Center in New York City.
Back in 2011, after more than six years at CNN, Harris joined AJE (Al Jazeera English) full-time as a “presenter". Harris was based out of AJE’s headquarters in Doha, Qatar.
