When do the new 2013 USPS postage rates go into effect?
The price of a First-Class Mail single-piece letter stamp increased from 46 cents to 49 cents on January 26, 2014. The cost of mailing a post card went up 1-cent as well. A post card stamp is now 34 cents. This is following the January 27, 2024 postage rate increase for all mail classes. The new prices are guaranteed for two years.
The stamp price increases are intended to generate $2 billion in incremental annual revenue for the U.S. Postal Service.
Just in! The U.S. Postal Service just added Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm to its Black Heritage Limited Edition Stamp Series. She was the first African-American woman ever elected to Congress, a notable civil rights leader and a pioneer for the women's rights movements. USPS Black Heritage Series Forever Stamps are available now at www.usps.com/stamps.
