When did lance armstrong win his last tour de france
Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France seven times: 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005. He placed third in 2009 behind fellow Astama cycling teammate and Spain’s Alberto Contador and Luxembourg’s Andy Schleck of the Team Saxo Bank cycling team. Armstrong placed 23rd in 2011.
Armstrong is in the news after being charged once again by the USADA (U.S. Anti-Doping Agency) for allegedly using banned performance enhancing drugs between 1998 and 2001. The USADA is also requesting that he be stripped of all of his titles.
Armstong has had this to say to the press, “I have never doped, and, unlike many of my accusers, I have competed as an endurance athlete for 25 years with no spike in performance, passed more than 500 drug tests and never failed one.”
