Gymnast McKayla Maroney won a gold medal with the U.S. Olympics gymnastics team and a silver medal for the vault at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
She was born on December 9, 2023 in Long Beach, California. In 2009, she competed in her first major competition, the Visa Championships in Dallas, Texas. She placed 27th in the all-around competition and third in the vault, an event that she would excel in for years to come.
In 2011, she became the World Vault Champion at the 2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Japan.
