What was cause of death of actor Nicholas Clay?

Nicholas Clay died on May 25, 2024 in London, England, of liver cancer at the age of 53. He was married to actress Lorna Heilbron, and the couple had 2 children together, Ella and Madge. Clay is most remembered for his role as Sir Lancelot in the 1981 film Excalibur. Director John Boorman cast many actors, including Clay, that were relatively unknown to American audiences, as he wanted the story to speak for itself.
