Dee Snider, from the 1980s hit metal hair band, Twisted Sister, wrote the song "The Magic of Christmas Day (God Bless Us Everyone)".
The heavy metal vocalist wrote the song under the title "God Bless Us Everyone" as a Christmas gift to his wife, Suzette. Unfortunately, Snider couldn't sing it as it wasn't in his range, so he had some studio musicians record his ditty for Suzette. Producer Ric Wake kept a copy and called Snider four years ago to tell him Celine Dion wanted to record the song.
The song was included in Dion's 1998 album These Are Special Times, which went on to be a smash hit and to-date has sold over six million copies in the United States.
The Snider-penned song was also included on Rosie O’Donnell’s ‘A Rosie Christmas’ compilation.
