Known as the largest of all the deer species, moose are so tall that they prefer to browse higher grasses and shrubs because lowering their heads to ground level can be difficult.
Moose lives in forested areas where there is snow cover in the winter. When the ice melts, moose are often seen in lakes, rivers, or wetlands. Their large size makes survival in warm climates difficult, and they have difficulty when temperatures rise above 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
