What is the ethnicity of shane battier of the miami heat?

Shane Battier grew up in Birmingham, Michigan to a Caucasian mother and an African-American father. He was the only basketball player at his high school, Detroit Country Day School, with that background. He has said that as a child he was never fully accepted in the white community, nor was he fully accepted into the black community. He would end up winning the 1997 Naismith Award for being the best high-school basketball player in the nation.

He attended Duke and would win an NCAA Championship in 2001 when Duke beat the Arizona Wildcats.

He recently won his first NBA championship in 2012 when the Miami Heat beat the Oklahoma City Thunder. Through 2012, 71% of all NBA Championship teams had at least one player on the roster that had also won a NCAA Championship at some point.
