What is Hope Solo's ethnicity?
Hope Solo, goal keeper of the gold medal winning US Olympic women’s soccer team, was born in Richland, Washington to a father of Italian decent. She has not publicly discussed the ethnic background of her mother.
In her new memoir, Solo: A Memoir of Hope, set to be released on August 14, 2012, Solo discloses that she was conceived during a conjugal visit her mother had with her father while he was in jail for embezzlement at Walla Wall State Penitentiary.
Her father also kidnapped Solo and her younger brother, Marcus, after which, Solo did not see her father for 10 years.
