In a signal that the Giants think that their quarterback, Eli Manning, is in the latter stages of his career — and that their downtrodden offense is in need of a quick upgrade — the team on Wednesday acquired the six-time Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall.
Marshall, 32, who was released by the Jets last week, gives the Giants two things they lacked last season: a tall, imposing and seasoned target for Manning, 36, and a player with a history of catching touchdowns when his team is near the goal line.
Marshall, who is 6 feet 4 inches and 230 pounds, will team with an explosive but smaller receiver in Odell Beckham Jr. and with the second-year receiver Sterling Shepard, who is 5-10. Read more at New York Times.
