Bill Cosby is now facing trial on three counts of felony aggravated indecent assault.
It was in 2004 when Andrea Constand accused Bill Cosby of sex-assault and had her complaint thrown out due to insufficient credible evidence. This motivated Constand to file a civil claim against Cosby, with 13 woman being specified as additional victims in the prosecution’s subpoena.
Leading up to the case, several women went to the media to outline their experiences with Cosby. Again, all of the stories about Bill Cosby were very similar, that Cosby drugged them and tried to engage them in sex activity.
Take a look at the allegations forming the basis of the charges and how they snowballed more than a decade later into lawsuits, cover stories, and a national conversation on sex assault case at CNN.
In latest news, aggravated sex-assault charges against Bill Cosby will go to trial this summer, a judge ruled Tuesday, May 24.
"Based on the evidence, I am going to hold you on charges,” Judge Elizabeth McHugh ruled.
Cosby responded later with a statement criticizing prosecutors and his accuser, and vowing he would prevail at trial. Catch more of the news at USA Today.
