What ethnicity is Lee Corso (espn anchor)'s father
Lee Corso (born Leland Corso in 1935) of ESPN's College GameDay is the son of an Italian immigrant father and an Italian mother who was the daughter of Italian immigrants. Corso has said publicly that his family was from a city in northeast Italy called Fonzaso. Corso is an extremely common name in Italy, meaning "course" or "run".
Lee graduated in 1957 from Florida State (where he played quarterback and cornerback for FSU's football team from 1953 to 1957) and was roommates and teammates with actor Burt Reynolds. He received a bachelor's degree in physical education and then went on to get his master's degree in 1958.
His immigrant and second-generation immigrant parents had no such education. His father had a second-grade education; his mother remained in school through only the fifth grade.
Corso recently returned to his alma mater for the latest edition of College GameDay on Saturday, September 22nd, 2012, when Florida State hosted (and beat) Clemson in Tallahassee. The Seminoles chopped down the Tigers 49-7.
