What does the gallbladders job if the gallbladder is removed?
Not Medical Advice: No organ directly takes over the job of the gallbladder after removal. The job of the gallbladder is to store bile created by the liver. This bile is delivered to the small intestine to help digest fats after a meal. When the gallbladder is removed the liver delivers its bile directly to the small intestine, which means there will be less of it at any one time since none is stored between meals. A healthy person can live without a gallbladder, though there's a small risk of diarrhea.
