What culture is Joakim Noah from.?

Joachim Noah has multicultural roots, African, French and American. He holds American, Swedish and French citizenship.

He was born to tennis star Yannick Noah and Swedish model Cecilia Rhode. His father is of half Cameroonian and half French ancestry.

As per ESPN, Noah was also a rasta at heart. Reggae, and the roots of the Rastafari movement has inspired Noah to broaden his horizons. Noah doesn’t consider himself a follower of any one religion.

“I’m not a religious person, but I’m a spiritual person," say Noah, whose family members practiced both Islam and Christianity. "I believe in God, but I don’t believe in one specific god. I like to take pieces from everywhere and incorporate them into my life."
“I’m not a Rastafari, but a lot of their philosophy and beliefs make sense to me: being in tune with nature, knowing about your roots, knowing about your heritage, not getting caught up in materialism.” He adds, “I think Rasta teaches you humility.”

Noah grew to the music of Bob Marley. It helped him connect with his roots.

In latest buzz, the New York Knicks appear committed to signing free agent center Joakim Noah as soon as possible. According to multiple reports, the two sides were working on a four-year deal worth more than $70 million. The deal is not done, but it might not be far off. Find out more at Cbssports.com.
