What animal goes whoop whoop

Raccoon kits can make the whooping sound. Zebras are also known to make a 'whoop whoop' sound.

Raccoon kits will scatter up a tree or to another safe place when the mother detects danger or gets into a fight with another animal like a cat or other raccoon.

Once it's safe again the kits will call out with what sounds like Whoop, Whoop, Whoop, Whoop to help the mother find them.

Squirrels, pigeons and the occasional raccoon or opossum are about the extent of the backyard wildlife most of us encounter. They're familiar sights around the neighborhood, and we're used to the sounds they make as they coo, screech and chatter. But have you ever awoken in the middle of the night to a wild sound you couldn't place? Check out these 7 wildlife calls you might hear in your backyard compiled by MNN.
