Physical Characteristics:
• Head and Face: The head of this breed of dog is small and triangle-shaped. Its face is a perfect blend of both the dog breeds. It has the big, expressive eyes of the Chihuahua and the folded or straight ears of the JRT. The color of the nose depends on the color of the coat.
• Body: The Jackchi's body takes after the Terrier gene. It has a lean and strong body which gives it excellent stamina. The forelegs of the Jack-Chi are similar to a Jack Terrier's while the hind legs are firm and strong. The paw pads can range from pink to brown depending on the color and coat.
• Weight: A typical, fully grown Jack-Chi weighs between 6 - 8 pounds. The puppies weigh around 2 to 2.5 pounds.
The Jack Chi has an average lifespan of 13 to 18 years.
We all want to keep our pets with us as long as possible, which is why we need to give them a certain level of care. Most dogs, depending on size, can live ten to fifteen years if they are in good shape mentally and physically.
