ALF's catch phrase was "I kill me!".
ALF is a 4.5-foot tall furry creature with a nose like an aardvark, curiosity that knows no bounds, an insatiable talent for getting into trouble and a penchant for considering your pet cat a culinary delight.
America first met ALF back in 1986. Parents loved him, kids identified with him, women young and old wanted to hug him. Spin-offs followed, such as an early morning ALF cartoon series, the movie Project ALF, Halloween costumes, stuffed talking ALF dolls, magnets, lunch boxes and apparel.
In 1990 ALF departed American living rooms for places unknown (though he was spotted as the Center Square on the very popular game show, Hollywood Squares, along with other periodic guest appearances where his wit and impeccable comedic timing were always a hit).
Sure, you know the cat-eating alien hails from the planet Melmac, but there’s plenty you (probably) don’t know about Gordon Shumway and his classic television show. Check out these 25 fun facts about ALF shared by Mentalfloss.com.
