It’s the 1987 TV/Movie Frog.
Scott Grimes plays Arlo Anderson, who is more interested in his large amphibian collection than girls. On his way to a date, he spies an unusual frog in the window of a pet shop. The frog gives him a wink, and the $20 intended for his date is spent.
This isn't an ordinary frog; he's Prince Giuseppe (Paul Williams supplies the voiceover), who was turned into a frog when he wouldn't kiss a witch 600 years ago. He will remain a frog for another 600 years if he doesn't get kissed by a beautiful girl.
The pair strikes a deal: If the frog helps Arlo win the science fair and, as a result, hook up with his popular, pretty science partner, Arlo will find a girl to release Prince Giuseppe from his frog prison. Shelley Duvall served as executive producer for Frog, and her flair with children`s programming is evident here.
The film also carries a Wonderworks label, implying that it was made for television; so all the images work well on the TV screen. But it`s not for kids only; even adults will get a kick out of seeing Paul Williams transformed from a frog to a princely lounge lizard.
