Is the alien at the end of Prometheus the first alien from alien v.s. predator
The alien at the end of the Ridley Scott's film Prometheus (2012) is not the first alien in Alien vs. Predator (AvP) (2004). Prometheus was originally supposed to serve as a prequel to his film Alien (1979). Scott changed his mind and decided to turn it into a mostly original film that would take place in the same universe as Alien (1979) and greatly reference it, but not serve as a direct prequel.
Guy Pearce who plays Peter Weyland says he thinks that Prometheus (2012) is more of a precursor to Alien (1979) that merely plants the seed for the story.
It has been rumored that the alien at the end of Prometheus (2012) allows for a possible sequel that may explain connections to Alien (1979).
To date, Prometheus (2012) has earned approximately $161,394,844 worldwide.
