The tattoo on Michael Scofield's body was surgically removed at the start of the fourth season in order to prevent people from recognizing him.
Wentworth Miller, who plays Michael Scofield, asked Prison Break writers to remove Scofield's tattoo.
Miller explained that the tattoo had a negative effect on him while filming in Dallas for the second and third seasons, saying: "In 100-degree heat, [I was] wearing long-sleeve shirts because we’re still pretending I actually have the thing on."
"I am looking forward to rolling my sleeves up," added the actor, after his request to remove the tattoo during the fourth season was granted by Prison Break's writers.
