How old was John F Kennedy when he died?

John F. Kennedy was assassinated at the age of 46 in Dallas, Texas. He had served less than three years in office.

Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts. He served in both the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate before becoming the 35th president in 1961.

As President, he faced a number of foreign crises, especially in Cuba and Berlin, but managed to secure such achievements as the Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty and the Alliance for Progress.

On November 22, 1963, Kennedy was assassinated while riding in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas. He was the youngest man elected President and was the youngest to die.

He was nicknamed "Jack," the second oldest of nine extraordinary siblings. His brothers and sisters include Eunice Kennedy, the founder of the Special Olympics; Robert Kennedy, a U.S. Attorney General; and Ted Kennedy, one of the most powerful senators in American history. The Kennedy children remained close-knit and supportive of each other throughout their entire lives.

He served in the US Navy during World War II after being rejected from the army due to his back problem. He has Addison's disease, and was hospitalized many times.

Kennedy was eager for the United States to lead the way in the space race. He continuously pushed for a ‘joint venture’ in space exploration with Russia, something that had eventually became a reality shortly after his death.
