Tie games are allowed in soccer but this only happens in the first round when teams play a round-robin. Draws are not possible following the group stage.
In the knockout stage, games that end in a draw after 90 minutes go to extra time, which lasts 30 minutes (two 15-minute periods) regardless if anyone scores. The game goes to a penalty kick if it is still tied.
