This includes wallpaper, book bindings, clothing, paper, glue, magazines and especially foodstuffs. They also feed on algae and lichens, which are forms of fungus.
Lepisma Saccharina, or silverfish as they're commonly called, are small, flat insects that move extremely fast and are about a half-inch long. The name silverfish is derived from its silvery-scaled appearance, although silverfish are hatched without scales.
Silverfish have been in existence since the Carboniferous period over 300 million years ago. Part of the Lepismatidae insect family, these wingless insects can be found worldwide in just about any place it's dark and damp. Learn more at Geeksonhome.com.
