Are there any vegan tires?

Tires contain stearic acid which can be taken from animal products, this component helps the rubber in tires hold shape under steady surface friction.

A member of Vegan Fitness forum took the time to call some tire manufacturers and made a handy list of companies that use plant-based alternatives of the component.

What was found is that "Michelin tires" have no animal derived products. The Stearic Acid used in their tires is derived from Vegetable/food grade product.
