John Leguizamo played as "Clown / Violator" in the movie "Spawn (1997)".
The story is a rambling mess that always leaves more questions than it could possibly answer. Opening with a loud, aggressive narration, Spawn is about the never-ending battle between Heaven and Hell. The Devil, referred to here as Malebolgia, has one of his lieutenants, a short, fat, grotesque clown named Clown (John Leguizamo), aligning his pawns on Earth as he prepares to unleash Armageddon.
Spawn’s role in the superhero hierarchy has always been a matter of debate. He’s not a member of the DC or Marvel family, and thus tends to get lost in the modern media shuffle which focuses on the films of those companies. Still, he’s managed to enter mainstream conciseness thanks in large part to the notoriety of the Golden Globe-winning HBO animated series based on the character.
