236 players, 20 managers, 9 umpires, and 32 pioneers and executives have been elected into the the Hall of Fame through the elections for 2012. The Pre-Integration Era committee selected player Deacon White, who played in the 1800s, umpire Hank O’Day and former Yankees owner Jacob Ruppert for the Hall of Fame class of 2013.

Just in- 2013 is only the second year in 42 years with no new baseball greats being inducted into the Hall of Fame. The ballot included 37 players, 24 of which are newly eligible candidates. The closest was former Houston infielder Craig Biggio, but his vote was 7% short of the required 75% requirement. Fans believe that Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Sammy Sosa were snubbed entry to the Hall of Fame because they have been linked to performance enhancing drug use.
