What religion is Paul Ryan?
Paul Ryan is Catholic and still belongs to the parish where he was an altar boy, St. John Vianney in Janesville, Wisconsin. When Ryan was selected as Mitt Romney’s running mate, it marked the first time in American history when both main tickets included a Roman Catholic, as Vice President Joe Biden is also a Catholic. Despite their common religion, Ryan and Biden are virtual opposites politically.
The Republican ticket also marks the first time in American history in which a major party did not have a Protestant on the ticket at all. Romney is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
