While there’s no public information available of how much they're worth, the electronic metal band Rammstein has sold over 22 million records worldwide. Of interest, music artists receive on average of around 15% of album sales revenues, whereas they receive on average 50% from concerts.
Rammstein was formed in 1994 in Berlin, and consists of Till Lindemann (lead vocals), Richard Kruspe (lead guitar and backing vocals), Paul Landers (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Oliver Riedel (bass guitar, “Ollie”), Christoph Schneider (drums and Electronic percussion, “Doom”) and Christian Lorenz (keyboards, “Flake”).
The Berlin-based sextet is known for their controversial and fiery live performances. The band first disturbed American shores in 1998 touring behind their Grammy-nominated breakthrough sophomore release, "Sehnsucht". Band members were jailed in the U.S. on indecency charges during the 1998 Family Values tour due to highly provocative live show.
Oh boy! Rammstein set fire to themselves onstage as they closed the recent Download 2013. Read more about it here.
