What is pandora?
Pandora in Greek Mythology was the first woman on earth. Hephaestus (god of craftsmanship) was ordered by Zeus to create her. Hephaestus used water and earth while the gods endowed her with many talents. Apollo gave her music, Aphrodite gave her beauty, Hermes gave her persuasion, and so forth. That’s why she was given the name Pandora which means "all-gifted".
Pandora is also the name of an Internet Radio site where you can personalize your own selections; you can create up to 100 unique "stations". Pandora relies on a Music Genome that consists of 400 musical attributes and as of May 2006, the Genome's music library already contains 400,000 analyzed songs from 20,000 contemporary artists, covering the qualities of melody, harmony, rhythm, form, composition and lyrics.
Of interest, T-Mobile has signed on as the signature sponsor of the Internet radio station’s Pandora Premieres offering, it will provide Pandora users with the opportunity to listen to full albums before their official release date.
